![Six months into being a first-time small business owner, and I’ve never felt the weight of it like I do right now ?
This place means everything to me. I poured my heart, my savings, my time, and my soul into creating something I truly believed could serve our community in a meaningful way.
Then this ice storm hit.
Five days closed.
All of our food spoiled.
The space is cold and dark.
The doors are shut.
And the fear is real.
I’m trying to stay positive.
I’m trying to trust the process.
I’m trying to believe the light is at the end of the tunnel, even when it feels really far away.
I think about rent.
I think about our part-time employees who rely on this place for income.
I think about the families who were supposed to be here playing, connecting, laughing, drinking coffee.
And instead, it’s quiet.
But even in the hard, I’m choosing to keep going.
I’m choosing to prepare.
To clean.
To reset.
To make this space even better.
So the second the lights come back on, I can open these doors and welcome our community home.
Trying to trust the process. It’s the hardest thing.
But I’m still here.
We’re still here.
And I still believe in what we’re building ?
